That is why the search engine is missing because it requires a lot of CPU time in order to perform a search. Use google and point to www.oric.org. Anyway, Google has a small percent of pages of www.oric.org. 2-I inserted a comment or rated a software, but it is not displayed Due to the CPU time required to generate pages, some pages are computed after 5 minutes, that is why you might have to wait up to 5 minutes after you changed something. 3-If I create an account, will my e-mail be sold for commercial purposes (for example Spam or anything else)? No, oric.org has no commercial target. Emails are only used for oric.org features, and email will never be sold or sent to any firms, groups or any kind of people. Your personal information won't be used or sold etc ... Cookies are also used on the site, but do not keep any essential information. 4-What is the CNIL ID at the bottom of www.oric.org ? www.oric.org is hosted in France. CNIL is a French organization which has a sight on any computer databank containing personal information. You can ask the oric.org webmaster to delete/modify any personal information on oric.org (under French law). www.oric.org databank is declared to CNIL with the ID 872370. 5-Are 80's software, available on the site for download, free ? You can download for free, but it's not necessarily freeware. A lot of software houses which released many oric titles are ok about downloads. But, if you are an author of one of the titles available for download, and you do not agree to the download being available, please email-us at software[at]oric[dot]org. 6-Databank is incomplete! Well, the software databank is a lot of work (huge work!). Information is detailed by people who work in their free time. Even if the information is done by people who know a lot about the Oric, it's almost impossible to have a 100% detailed databank. Please now read point #7! 7-How can i help ? Of course we need help. You can help, especially with the software databank (Information, screenshots, software, scans etc). You can also create an account and rate or comment on software that you know. Contact webmaster[at]oric[dot]org for more information. 8-Sending software images. Screenshots must be in PNG format. We are trying to keep the information in the databank as accurate as possible, so please bear the following points in mind when submitting programs. When sending an image of a program for inclusion in the databank, please try to make it as accurate as possible. If you have transferred files from a cassette for example, please try and make sure that all the files on the tape are included, especially loading screens which often get missed off image files. The most common types of image files for the Oric emulators are TAP for tapes and DSK for floppy disks. Of course, if you know an image is not complete, we would still like to see it, but let us know that it is not complete so we can try to get a complete image in the future. If the file is a magazine or book listing, try to keep it as accurate to the original as possible for the main download. However, if you have made any modifications or improvements to the listing, send us those modified versions as well!
